Trace and Lelia Wilson

I think that Trace and Lelia will always be newlyweds. They are so in love and love to show it and love to be together and it is adorable. They've been married for a little over a year, and I still get excited every time I see them because they're still so excited to be together. They are also great goal setters, which is a great example to me. Make a plan, make a plan to achieve your plan, and do it!

Getting to Know You!
When and/or how did you know you wanted to marry each other?
Trace: When we were star gazing on my birthday in Monroe canyon.
Lelia: I feel like it came gradually throughout our relationship. There was no one moment, it was all the moments building up. I eventually realized I just can't live without him!
What is something that your spouse does (something they may not even realize!) that makes your heart skip a beat and brings you joy.
Lelia: When he gives me that look. That look where I can see and feel how much he loves and cares for me. He looks so attractive and I just love him so much in those moments, I just have to hug and kiss him right there!
Trace: When she smiles her biggest smile. I become so happy when she's so happy.
What did you love about your spouse in the beginning that you still love about them now?
Trace: There are so many things! Her smile, when she sings, her eyes, her laugh. Everything.
Lelia: I have always loved Trace's love for music! And how we just get along so well and are each other's best friend. And also his wonderful personality and humor! He can always make me laugh
What is an accomplishment you are your spouse are proud of?
Getting sealed in the temple
What is one of your favorite dates you've been on as a couple?
Our California trip last Spring, where it was just the two of us. Every day was a great date! Going to SeaWorld, different beaches and eating at our favorite restaurants.
Why Marriage Rocks
What's one thing you love to talk about when you have nothing pressing to talk about?
Getting to know each other better by asking and answering deep questions. We also like to talk about our future.
Tell us about a trial you have faced together and how you feel you were successful in overcoming it, or what you have learned during it.
A really difficult trial for us was not getting married in the temple. Trace was not able to go on a mission and when we got married we weren't able to get married and sealed in a temple. After a year of hard work, we were able to make it to the St. George temple together to be sealed for time and all eternity. We learned a lot about ourselves spiritually and gained a deeper understanding, as husband and wife, of eternal families.
What makes your marriage unique?
We were married really young and were high school sweethearts. And Lelia is a cougar
What are advantages of marriage?
Being married is the best! Every night is a sleepover with your best friend. Late night trips to Denny's and late night conversations.
What blessings have come into your life because of marriage?
We have been able to attend the temple regularly and have noticed the difference it has made in our lives. Our testimonies have grown as we've discussed the gospel together and we have been able to work on building our spiritual knowledge.
Advice
What's a practice or routine you've established that keeps your marriage healthy?
We always kiss each other goodbye at the beginning of the day. And we always set aside time at night before going to bed that we snuggle and talk about our day or about random thoughts.
What's one principle you think is important in a healthy marriage?
Making our decisions together and supporting each other in everything.
What is a positive influence on your marriage when things get hard?
Regular temple attendance
If you had time to talk to newlyweds, what would your greatest piece of advice be?
You're going to be broke, but you have to love each other no matter what.
If you need a little marriage recharge, what's your trick?
We always have a few days per month where we go on dates to have time for just us.
As you look into the future, what do you see that will help keep your marriage strong?
Dates, time together, temple attendance, and our future children
What's the secret of a happy marriage?
Being best friends that can make each other laugh regulary
What is a simple marital practice you would share with a friend who may say they are facing challenges in their marriage?
Never go to sleep or leave the house without a kiss

"Express gratitude for what your spouse does for you. Express that love and gratitude often. That will make life far richer and more pleasant and purposeful. Don’t withhold those natural expressions of love. And it works a lot better if you are holding her close while you tell her: (Richard G. Scott, The Eternal Blessings of Marriage, 2011).
